We are generally agnostic of language, technology or tools. Currently, our tech stack is built on Golang, Node.js, Ruby, Java and PHP. We use Aerospike, and MySQL as data stores, ElasticSearch for search and Beanstalkd for queuing

We emphasize a lot on clean abstractions of code, loosely coupled services and good coding practices

Roles and Responsibilities
As the engineering manager of the team, your roles and responsibilities include:
Build and mentor a team of engineers

Create an environment and culture where efficiency and innovation thrive

Manage learning and development of team members.
Work with stakeholders (Business owners, CFO and CEO's office, Architects) to identify objectives for the team and deliver outcomes. This includes:

Work with the CFO's office for functional roadmap and requirements
-
Work with Architects for non-functional requirements
-
Liaise with all stakeholders on priorities and timelines
-
Own up delivery - guide the team to deliver
-
Translate engineering roadmap into executable internal projects, and own the end-to-end execution of these projects.

Track and report engineering health metrics (such as bugs by severity, production incidents, etc.)
-
Ensure quality through processes ( Review code, test plans, and deployment plans.)
Must-haves
-
7-10+ years of experience with a Bachelor / Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Experience in the development of some of the backend/platform components or systems, REST API, etc.

Proven track record in leading the development of high-complexity software with demonstrable outcomes

Experience with Billing and BI tools
-
1-2+ years of experience in building/managing a high-performance team
-
Capability and intent of taking end-to-end ownership
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with cloud deployments (distributed and scalable systems) and DevOps as a culture environment
